The BYC had its first party of the summer at Drift on Saturday evening despite the inclement weather. Below is a picture of the participants who joined in. Brugal rum representative John Easton provided refreshments to BYC members in the form of a potent Brugal rum punch. Drift provided an assortment of canapés including brisket sliders, deviled eggs cheese platters and other yummy passed items. The club gained four new members as well as provided information to over twenty interested aspiring sailors. With the summer gearing up and more boats being launched in the harbour the BYC has an exciting season of summer activities planned. Sunday afternoons beginning June 30th and Wednesday evenings beginning July 3rd will be weekly racing nights for BYC boat owners and aspiring crew. Saturday, June 29th will be Movie in the Marina night; a family friendly feature showing in Harbour Lights Marina with complimentary snacks and beverages. For updated listings of activities, the public is invited to check out the new and improved BYC website www.bayfieldyachtclub.
The BYC is currently seeking out new members. Those keen to learn more about boating and network with other boaters in the Bayfield Community are invited to reach out! To date, we have received kind donations in the form of second-hand sailing dinghies and equipment from members of the community and are proud to announce that we will be putting together sailing vessels and equipment for BYC members to utilize. Ultimately the long term goal of the club is to start a youth sailing and mentorship program with a view to getting Huron county youth out on the water.
Thanks so much,
